So… this only targets iPad/iPhone and Apple's App Store?

    How is that "open"?

Do they state that somewhere? The only thing the site says is that the framework is based on open standards.

Well, the tagline is "HTML5 Ebook framework for iPad/iPhone", plastered all over the website. For all the mention of "open" and "HTML5" I cannot find any evidence of them targeting anything else other than iPad/iPhone's Webkit.

Looking through their GitHub repo1 I don't see anything except Apple-specific stuff (Xcode projects, etc).

        Have you found anything otherwise?

"Open standard" and "open source" both have nothing to do with target platforms. In this case the target platform is the iOS magazine store, as far as I understand.

However, as it definitely is open source, and the BSD license allows both personal and commercial usage, feel free to add support for more distribution methods, like Android apps or pure browser enviroments.
